Top 5 YouTube Rare Remixes
Ordinarily, remixes are confined to sweaty provincial nightclubs or motivational dance compilations beloved by people who exercise. Fortunately, YouTube is also a goldmine of fan-made rejigs of classic console tuneage. So, inspired by the Electro Fizz, Wobble Dub and Big Beat Bonanza remixes included on the Kinect Sports Eyes on the Prize 12″ single, not to mention talented medley-making, tune-reworking YouTube folk like this fellow, we invite you to get your groove on with a sick selection of Rare-inspired sounds. Brap! Brap! Etc.

1. B-K: Rusty Bucket Bay (Dubstep Remix)
Ah, dubstep… how far your signature brand of electro gloom-wobble has spread. So much so, that even the likes of Britney and, er… Jinjos are now getting in on the act? As they (apparently) say in dubstep circles, ‘wait for the drop’.

1. Room to manoeuvre
Kudos to this chap for even attempting to play Kinect Sports in what looks like the least suitable gaming environment ever. And whilst I’m loving his monochromatic tile-work, I suspect a grippier shoe might be in order next time.

Season Two PAX Prime Roundup

Kinect Sports: Season Two got another airing over the weekend, when PAX Prime opened its mammoth expo halls in Seattle. For those of you not within striking distance of the Emerald City, we’ve put together a perfectly packaged roundup of everything that went on.
After Tennis and Darts recently debuted at Gamescom, it was finally Baseball’s turn to step up and get some attention. Visitors to the Kinect booth got the chance to try out batting and pitching using Season Two‘s improved motion control and new voice commands.
Reactions from the showfloor were positive, with Baseball even managing to convert a sceptical Anthony Gallegos from IGN:
“After a few swings with a virtual baseball bat I found myself smiling, joking with the other player, and — dare I admit it — having fun… If the rest of ‘Kinect Sports: Season Two’ is as approachable and well-functioning as baseball, then fans of the original have a lot to look forward to.”
Constant from Machinima was similarly won over when he met up with Producer Harry to talk Baseball and find out how Season Two layers complexity for different types of gamers:
While Harry and the team continued to work up a Baseball-induced sweat in Seattle, our UK contingent released a handful of new Baseball screens and some new gameplay footage that promptly started popping up all over the interweb. Like here, here and here.
We’re told that G4 and a few other sites will be posting their own interviews and hands-on previews shortly, so keep ‘em peeled!

Season Two Gamescom Roundup
Gamescom is done and dusted for another year, and Kinect Sports: Season Two has been getting plenty of play time with media types and gamers alike. Don’t worry if you couldn’t front the plane ticket to Cologne, because here’s our handy roundup of everything you need to know.
Microsoft kicked things off a day early with their pre-show Xbox Play Day event, where attendees got the chance to see and play all the newest games, and talk to the people behind them. Grand Slam supremo and all-round lovely lady, Martina Hingis made an appearance and tried her hand (literally) at a game of Tennis on Kinect Sports: Season Two. And by the sounds of things, she gave it the thumbs up!
More exciting news swiftly followed, as Microsoft announced worldwide release dates for Kinect Sports: Season Two and it received a nomination for Best Family Game at Gamescom.
The showfloor officially opened its doors the following day, and Graeme Boyd (aka AceyBongos) from Xbox Europe treated us to a video tour of Microsoft’s booth and stopped for a chat with Rare’s very own George Andreas. Meanwhile, back at Rare HQ, we released some new footage of Tennis and Darts in action, along with a smörgåsbord of new screenshots to whet your appetite before the game’s October release.
Elsewhere on the interweb, Digital Spy were impressed with Season Two’s improved motion tracking and new voice commands, while IGN praised the game’s ‘awesome’ and ‘eclectic’ soundtrack of licensed music. Joe Nickolls from BigPark stepped up to the oche with Gamespot for a game of Darts, and Kinect Sports‘ impressive sales figures got some well-deserved attention.
Expect lots more Kinect Sports: Season Two coverage in the coming week, as our travelling roadshow moves to Seattle for PAX.

Superstar Bazaar
Ask anyone’s opinion on the best sporting event in the world, and they’ll almost certainly answer, “Simple! It’s the Kinect Sports Superstars event.” It’s possible that someone might mention the Olympics, but don’t trust them, they’re almost certainly lying.
This was part of a long-running British tradition of making athletes compete in sports they’ve never tried before. Not for holistic training or anything like that – we just like to have a giggle.
Where else could you watch cricketer Graeme Swann pummelling skeleton champion Amy Williams in the Kinect Sports boxing ring? What could be more amazing than seeing Commonwealth table tennis star Darius Knight battling gymnast Louis Smith at the 100m sprint? Tickets would have undoubtedly sold for thousands, but we decided that showing the event on YouTube would be fairer, because London is quite far for some people to travel.

YouTube is only six years old, but it’s already hard to remember what life was like without it. In that dark age before the online video site launched, we’d never have been able to watch our friends fall over while doing the Long Jump or bowl a perfect game dressed as Spider-Man.
While Kinect Sports might not yet have found its Star Wars Kid or Tron Guy, there are still some brilliant replay videos out there, and this month we’re taking a look at five of the best.

1. Pin Rush to the Max
When we first downloaded the server stats to put together a high score list, we thought that the leading result for Pin Rush must have been a mistake. As it turns out, drpatazi’s score of 14,270 was totally legit and he’s just an absolute demon of the lanes. We’ve never seen a bowling style quite like it.
